Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

18 Leyland is to increase production by a third and will become the production centre for all Daf light trucks.

The manufacturer, which was acquired by the US-based Paccar group in 1998, is expected to assemble 13,000 light and middleweight CVs in 2001: up from about 10,000 last year.

Earlier this week the company, which is still based in its home town of Leyland, Lancs, revealed that it will start producing middleweights which until now have been manufactured at Oaf's Eindhoven plant in Holland.

Leyland managing director Stuart Heys says the production increase will not require significant investment in the plant, which employs around 1,000 workers. The company is one of the few vehicle manufacturers in the UK to have a bright future—car manufacturers seem to be queueing up to get out of the UK. blaming the strength of the pound and the government's reluctance to commit to the Euro.

Heys says Leyland has offset the strength of the pound by sourcing more components from countries using the Euro. Half the components on the new IF range come from inside the Euro-zone, compared with just 9% on previous models.
