ieves drove Wrekin Construction's eight-wheeler Leyland Daf 3027 through three concrete posts and a fence, across a field and along a footpath to get it out of the company's yard. The black truck, fitted with a Brimec body, was taken from Wrekin's yard at Shifnal near Telford on Monday 8 August. Wrekin's plant manager Peter Greenwood believes that the truck, reg H115 SHW, was badly damaged.

Its engine number E7988T and chassis number XLRA 8M 69 POL 026 871.

Greenwood believes the thieves were interested in the U5,000 truck, Fitted with a red Viper crane, to break it into parts.The thieves also ripped off the Metro Stoplock fitted to the steering wheel.
