Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• North Yorkshire police are warning hauliers to tighten up vehicle security following a 50% increase in truck thefts.

Already 14 trucks have been reported stolen in the area this year, and the police say the theft of trailers has also increased significantly over the past two years. Specialist units such as horse boxes are said to be the main targets.

Inspector Bob Waud suggests that hauliers fit hitch locks and wheel clamps on their trailers, ignition cut-outs and alarm systems on their trucks and stamp identification marks on to their vehicles.

El A £5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the recovery of a Leyland Daf 30.30 Constructor stolen from Kane Haulage's depot in Redbourn, Hertfordshire on 11 April.
