• Leyland Daf has been honoured this week in the Queen's Awards for Exports — for its £200m contribution to the export drive last year when it exported 14,000 vehicles, representing 40% of its total UK production_ The company, which has seen a 300% growth in exports from UK plants since the merger between Leyland and Daf, will keep the award for five years_ Most vehicles were sold through Daf's 1,300-outlet sales network in Europe although more than 1,000 were sold to customers elsewhere.
Other firms honoured include Sun Valley Poultry, which runs a large reefer fleet, and Ricardo Consulting Engineers.
