A prototype trolleybus for the Milan vehicle replacement programme is likely to prove a major attraction at next week's commercial motor show at Turin.
Based on a Volvo B 59 chassis, the prototype is 12m long, with a wheelbase of 5.9m. The vehicle is fitted, for the first time in Italy, with an automatic trolley retriever/placer which enables the driver to re-wire the bus without leaving his seat.
