Confer in London • THE Prime Minister opened the ninth session of the Council of the European Conference of Ministers of Transport at Lancaster House, London, last week. Mr. Harold Watkinson, Minister of Transport, was elected chairman for the coming year. Seventeen countries were represented at the conference, 11 of them by their ninisters of transport. Matters discussed included transport aspects of the Free Trade Area and the Common Market, co-operation with international professional and trades union organizations. and road safety.
