Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A Leeds Industrial Tribunal has ordered international haulier G R Tate to pay a driver £372.81 after it decided that Tate had underpaid him for a return trip to Yugoslavia.

The driver, George White, had claimed that Tate had made an unlawful deduction from his wages.

White gave evidence that he had worked for Tate for a very short time as a driver on journeys to Yugoslavia. He was entitled to be paid £300 per trip, which ordinarily took seven to• eight days. However, on a trip at the end of December there were problems on the Continent. Borders were closed and the trip took two weeks to complete.
