Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

for travel in Common Market countries yet the insurance people still advocate the possession of these documents when operating in Europe. Why is this?

Green cards are no longer required for the Common Market countries nor for Austria, Switzerland, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

The motoring organization and the insurance companies nevertheless recommend that drivers should be in possession of a green card because the cover provided by the extension of British insurance policies to include the use of vehicles in these countries provides only the minimum required by each country's law.

Vehicle users who require their full United Kingdom cover to continue to apply to journeys in the countries concerned will, therefore, still need to obtain the green card from their insurers.
