Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A LTHOUGH the Morris Exhibition at Longbridge follows closely on the Austin Show (The Commercial Motor, May 10) the displays are, in the main, of original interest and include many vehicles fitted with mechanical handling equipment. The exhibition opened on Tuesday and doses on May 30.

Handling versatility is a special feature of many of the exhibits. For example, its application on a light-alloy, tipper (on an FH 7-ton chassis) shown by The Service Garage (Brighouse) Ltd., Wakefield Road, Brighouse, which incorporates a portable hydraulically driven belt conveyor, and a patented jack-skate stillage-handling trolley demonstrated by R. A. Neaverson Ltd., Abbey Lane, Leicester. It is also evident on the company's electrically operated platform lift (on an FG 2-ton chassis), the Pengco utility bulk service vehicle shown by the Peterborough Engineering Co. Ltd., Oxley Works, Peterborough (on an FH 7-ton chassis), and a pneumatic discharge system of which is fitted with the concern's patented rotary valve. Again, this emphasis on handling versatility appears on a van body built by C. Saunders Ltd., Letchworth, Herts (on an FF 7-ton chassis) which is fitted with a new type of U.S. Industries tail-lift of the power closure type for loading computers.

Versatility of a different type is a feature of a dual-purpose delivery vehicle (on an FG 2-ton chassis) exhibited by Leicester Carriage Builders and Wheelwrights Ltd., Marlow Road, Leicester, which is designed for the carriage of milk and bread. Fifteen of

these vehicles have been supplied to the Leicester Co-operative Society.

Of the type supplied to the Birmingham City Corporation Salvage Department by the bodybuilders Glover, Webb and Liversidge, Old Kent Road, London, S.E.I, a Haller refuse collector (on FF 7-ton chassis) affords dustless loading of the special bins; a 1,000-gal. gully emptier displayed by The Yorkshire Patent Steam Wagon Co., Hunslet, Leeds (on an FG 7-ton chassis), has an hydraulic ram to de-water sludge and to discharge the dry sludge on the tipping site.
