AN interesting sequel to the paper "Road Safety delivered to the T.R.T.A.'s national conference last autumn by the then transport controller of Schweppes Ltd., is to be seen in the announcement by Advance Linen Services Ltd., of its appointment of a full-time safety officer. He is Mr. George Carruthers, for many years on the staff of the Hendon Police Driving School and one of the two chief examiners for the League of Safe Drivers. He is also a keen rally driver and motorcyclist.
Mr. Carruthers' activities will include riding with all car and van drivers, investigation of accidents, advice on vehicles, design and equipment as it affects road safety and the promotion of general interest in, and regard for, road safety.
