Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Andover Trailers has developed a 46-tonne gross weight air-suspended tri-axle low-loader trailer with a selftracking rear axle which is designed to give greater maneovrability and reduce tyre scrub.

The Andover rear-steer trailer features a 6.7m deck and a four-member steel chassis frame.

Its tri-axle bogie has a 30tonne rating, and is fitted with an SAF AR413 self-tracking rear axle with a maximum steering angle of 20°. Air suspension is standard across the bogie and can be raised or lowered on the trailer, which has a 35-tonne payload.

The SAF self-tracking axle has a mechanical lock-up for reversing, and air dampers which stiffen up the selftracking action as rear axle loads increase. Other features on the trailer include a detachable hydraulic swan neck which can be either raised or lowered, and springassisted rear ramps. Prices start at around E25,000 depending on specification.

One of the first operators to take delivery of the latest selfsteering Andover low-loader trailer is London-based McGeoghan Plant Hire.
