Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A single example of this maker's production is staged, and this is a fine three-ton, rubber-tired machine for Ingham Chew and Sons, Catricra, of Blackburn. Of course, thia machine embodies all the usual Garrett characteristics,, including the well-known superheated steam-engine system, and the employment of piston valves for the compound engine. This machine is particularly interesting in that it is the first example from the Leiston works to embody a number of new revisions. These include an entirely new installation of brakes. There is now a contracting type of brake on the differential gear, which has an exceptionally large area, and in adtli tion there is a pair of expanding brakes on the back wheels. The flywheel brake is now done away with, in accordance with the recent Local Government Board Order that the engine may now be regarded as an efficient brake. The tank arrangement has also been revised. eon. nections are provided which enable the main tank to be efficiently drained, and, in order to provide for proper cleansing at intervals, a large hand-bole cover is embodied in the side of the rear tank. Other interesting new features which are embodied in this Garrett machine are the provision of good protection for the driver, and an ingenious wormactuated odometer drive.

At the present time, there are distinct signs of increasing interest, on the part of both users and manufacturers, in the use of superheated steam plant for road-haulage work. Garrett's have pursued a steady line of policy in this respect, ever since they have constructed steam wagons and tractors. Their big stationary plants with self-contained boiler and superheater installations are in satisfactory service all over the world. Their unique experience has enabled them to get the best results.
