Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

m Heathrow-based Emery Worldwide is to become part of one of the world's biggest logistics companies. Its US-based parent, CHF, is to combine the freight forwarder and logistics business with two other subsidiaries, forming a company called Menlo Worldwide with an annual turnover of £2bn and 15,000 employees.

Emery has been based in the UK since 1956. Its fleet of about 45 vehicles is all contracted out although most are in the Emery livery.

A spokesman says the merger means Emery's existing operations will become more focused on physical distribution by road, rail, air and sea rather than supply chain management.

Menlo CEO John Williford says combining all the expertise within the CNF group into one company will help deal with the increasingly complex issues facing global supply chain management and logistics operations.
