COMMITTEE TO RESOLVE LONDON BUS CLAIM

A BOARD of conciliation is to resolve ri the dispute over the 25s. pay claim by London bus crews. This suggestion was put forward by Sir Wilfred Neden, the Ministry of Labour's Chief Industrial Commissioner. and has now been accepted by both the London Transport Executive and the Transport and General Workers' Union.

The Minister of Labour was told of their decision on Monday, and was expected to appoint the special committee within a few days.

Although the Union arc not expecting the full 25s. award, they will press for at least 9s., which they say is due to them because of the increase in the cost of living since the last pay rise was granted.
