SPECIAL Notice has been issued for trailer operators i. Intertruck removable trailer kingpin part 313N.
A small number of removable kingpins has been manufactured which may not seat fully into the mating backplate.
This type of kingpin has been in use for the last eleven years and is fitted by all UK semi-trailer manufacturers.
Although no failures have occurred in that time it is possible that a few may have been fitted without the mis-match being noticed. Trailers fitted with the Intertruck kingpins part No. 313N should be checked at earliest opportunity.
