Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

"I am considering the purchase of a 30cut. vehicle and am puzzled at the wide difference in prices. Of those machines that are offered me, there are two which appeal to toe; one will cost about £200 for the chassis and the other £300. The manufacturer's guarantee is similar in each case, and I should like to know if there be any unanswerable argument in femur of the more expensive machine It see= to me that the dearer one cannot last more than half as long again as will the other, so that, by purchasing the cheapel one, I should conserve at least £100 capital for other uses."

The question that you ask is most difficult to answer, because, of course, without actual knowledge of the specific chassis you have in mind, it is impossible to be sure that the dearer one is actually of the same value, pound for pound, as is the other. It may really be more ; on the other hand, the high price may result fr6in causes other han the cost of good materials or workmanship. Assuming that eac is equi

valent value for money, t more expensive chassis is the better for the reason that the more rapidly epreciating one will cost more to ru . The consumption of fuel, oil and res is dependent on the general con 'tion of a chassis, and one which de eciates quickly is going to be expensive in respect of these items.
