Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• BP has introduced an oil condition monitoring service called INDIC-8 which, it claims, will identify potential mechanical defects before they become expensive repair bills. Those signing up for the service will receive a kit to enable them to send oil samples off the BP's laboratories in Aldridge for analysis. The results are sent through 36 hours later and there are specialist engineers on hand to help with interpretation.

BP says the cost of the service can be recouped in one keeping one truck on the road for two hours, when instead it would have been receiving repairs.
