Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Tread with interest some of 1 your comments and those of JS Cook & Sons in last week's Commercial Motor.

As the managing director of Daly Transport Services, which operate just over 100 commercial vehicles, of which 30 are international work, we fully support the sentiments of JS Cook.

We are supposed to be in a "harmonised Europe" but we are paying double the level of road tax, even though my vehicles are only in the country possibly two or three days a month.

I have suggested in a fax to JS Cook that we try to get the support of magazines such as this one, or one of the trade bodies. A standard fax letter could be issued as a supplement in your next magazine, so that possibly all your readers, as well as FTA or RHA members may bombard the fax numbers of the likes of Neil Kinnock and all relevant parties.

feel we cannot as an industry continue to take this lying down, although I have some reservations about illegally blocking roads, as I do not want to be seen as a cowboy operator.

Michael Daly

Managing director, DTS.
