Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Between February 1969 and February 1970 I drove an hgv at least once per week on 26 separate weeks throughout the year. Sometimes I drove several times in the one week and in all I have about 54 days driving experience mostly on class 3 vehicles.

AIt is not possible for us to state categori

cally that you will be able to obtain an hgv driving licence on the record which you state. A great deal depends on the interpretation the Licensing Authority puts on the words "in the habit" which are contained in the regulations. We think, however, that you have a good chance with the experience you have had, as this was gained in the relevant period. i.e. February 1969 to February 1970. We suggest you write to your local LA to see whether he is prepared to say in advance whether he is likely to grant you a licence on your experience. If he was to do this it would, of course, only be a licence to drive class 3 vehicles on which you gained your experience.

If claiming a licence on the basis of experience this must be backed up by a properly signed certificate (provided in the application form) showing the extent of the experience.
