Waste Services (Preston) Ltd applied for a licence for its four vehicles with a margin of four, while A. Thorpe Ltd, Bury, applied for eight vehicles and a margin of four.
Vehicle examiners from Preston and Bolton spoke of inadequate premises for vehicle maintenance, but both operators planned to construct new premises.
