• On Tuesday union representatives of 22,000 BRS workers lodged a claim for a basic £30 a week wage for drivers. A meeting of the BRS national joint negotiating committee for operating and other wages grades, discussed the application. The meeting now stands adjourned until April 28 to enable both sides to collate information and figures.
Meanwhile drivers and loaders are on unofficial strike at 21 BRS depots in support of the claim.
