Record Competition for "The Commercial Motor" Challenge Cup.
There are no fewer than 23 teams entered in competition for the handsome silver challenge cup, presented by the proprietors of THE COMMERCIAL MOTOR, which cup is now held by the Westminster City Council in respect of a mixed team of Leyland and Thornycroft steam vehicles. The teams this year are entered by the following owners : —Allen and if anburys, Ltd. ; Cannon and Gaze, Ltd. ; Davis and Son ; French's Garage and Motor Works, Ltd. ; Fry Bros. ; Gas Light and Coke Co. (two teams); Harrods, Ltd., (two teams) ; John Knight, Ltd. ; Lush and Cook, Ltd. ; Mark Mayhew, Ltd. ; Michelin Tyre Co., Ltd. ; James Nelson and Sons, Ltd. ; Pickford's, Ltd. (three teams) ; Spiers and Pond, Ltd. ;. Tottenham and Edmonton Gas Co. ; Westminster City Council (three teams).
Healthy competition is also shown amongst. those gentlemen, on the staff of owners, who are directly responsible for the operation of well-known fleets, the results of whose labours will be recognized on parade, are the following, the names of the entrants being given in parentheses : —Nicholson and Sons, Ltd.
