• Scantruck, Scania's whollyowned distributor in the SouthEast, has made its South Mimms branch manager Nigel Base redundant, along with two fitters and a sales driver.
Scantruck managing director Vernon Broom says the cutbacks reflect the recession in the industry.
Broom now assumes day-today control at South Mimms while John Ansel], general sales manager at Purfleet branch, takes over sales.
A new site will open in Kent next year.
