• A Midland haulage company which has depots in Leeds and Scotland is looking for a partner in North London. The firm, which will probably run two or three small trucks, will help Mainline Haulage deliver consignments for a national distribution contract into the South-East.
The partner will also get a chance to buy into Willenhallbased Mainline, says managing director Ron Aitken. Its sister firm in Leeds is wholly owned by its managing director, but it owns its Scottish subsidiary. Both trade under the name Mainline and run in its livety.
Mainline has a £100,000 a year night distribution deal with bearings manufacturer BSL and it is for that it needs the London partner.
