Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Keywords : Truck

AT LAST, someone has spoken out about these foreign trucks coming over to this country and causing the small haulage companies the biggest headaches we have ever had (CM 9 September).

I wrote to you a couple of years ago when you responded with great might.1 was really concerned about what was happening to our country regarding these foreign operators, and now it seems they have taken over our domain.

All you see on the M20/M2 (1 live in Sittingbourne) is foreign trucks — to be honest it is very difficult to spot the lonely UK haulier any more.

What is going wrong with this Government? Can't they see what is before their eyes, or are they totally blind to the fact we are being overrun and abused by cheap labour from other countries?

We run three trucks so ours is not a very big company. Although we make a living from it that is quickly being taken away from us by under-cutting and cheaper diesel from foreign competitors.

Can 1 also point out a really nagging and annoying complaint about these drivers? As you go along our roads and most motorways, what do you see? Yes, you've got it, one after the other, accidents involving a foreign truck. It costs us drivers' hours, late deliveries and frustration.

On 14 September we sat on the M25 for an hour trying to get past the Al0 junction. There was a Dutch truck being towed away after crashing into the hard shoulder bank, it was chaos. Oh come on Britain:let's get to grips with this problem! Let's get our country back to being British not 3/4 European and 1/4 British.
