Computer to Solve Traffic Problems: The Ministry of Transport has ordered a large-system 4-70 English Electric Leo-Marconi computer to help them solve traffic problems. The computer will help to analyse the causes of road accidents and work out where to erect street lights for maximum efficiency.

First Buses for Villages: The Malvern to Upton-onSevern stage bus service has been extended experimentally to provide the villages of Naunton and Ripple with two journeys in and out of Upton on Wednesdays. This is the first bus service ever to have operated to these villages.

Warning—Low Bridge: Leicester City Council is to fit warning devices operated by photo-electric cells to the low railway bridges crossing Gipsy Lane and Lancaster Road.
