Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

haulage very seriously. However, once a week, our quirky correspondent, the Hawk, steps off his perch to take a humorous look at the industry to keep us all sane. If you have any off-beat yarns that illustrate the stranger, or sillier, side of the business, he'd like to hear from you. As a softhearted old bird, he's also happy to publicise charitable works— and is always interested in events for the vintage vehicles he drove as a fledgling. Drop the Hawk a line at Commercial Motor, Bird's Eye View, Rm H203, Quadrant House, The Quadrant, Sutton, Surrey SM2 AS, or fax him on 0181 652 8969.

It's a knockout

2:1 ot known for being a shy, retiring chap, Chris Eubank certainly knows how to make an entrance. He rolled into town last month in his £100,000 American Peterbilt-bonneted truck to promote his fight with 25-year-old Welshman Joe Calzaghe at the Sheffield Arena.

He was promptly fined £60 for parking on double yellow lines in a taxi rank (a brave traffic warden, methinks).

Perhaps Eubank should have taken this as an omen, because he went on to lose the fight on points.

Still, never mind Chris; if the boxing lark goes pear-shaped it seems you're all geared up for a life in road haulage.
