Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

SOME READERS may have been misled by the story in last week's issue of CM in which the Road Haulage Association's objections to farmers' concessions were reported.

The National Farmers' Union has pointed out that a farmer can only tow his own goods under the restrictions of the farmer's goods vehicle licence. It is illegal for him to carry any other persons goods, and they are not entitled to use rebated fuel (red diesel).

Only agricultural machines get a fuel rebate, and they are only permitted to travel a maximum of 15 miles on roads.

The "F-licence" referred to in last week's CM is a misleading term, according to the NFU. A better term for it is "the farmer's goods vehicle licence".
