Mr. J. A. Neale, principal assistant (staff and training) in the office of the staff and welfare officer of London Transport has been promoted to an officer of the Board. Mr. Neale, who is 43, joined London Transport in 1947 after graduating at Oxford University. During the last war, he served as a motor transport Co. Cdr.

Mr. G. Flint has been appointed a principal executive assistant in the office of the assistant solicitor (common law) of London Transport.

Mr. George K. Thompson, formerly managing director of Gulf Oil (Belgium) S.A., has been transferred to London as manager (marketing) of Gulf Eastern Company. Mr. Zane Q. Johnson, formerly general manager of the Gulf refinery -at Europort in the Netherlands, has been appointed manager (refining) of Gulf Eastern.

A26 Dennis Bros Ltd., of Guildford, have appointed Mr. T. H. Sharman as chairman following the resignation from the board' of Sir Charles Westlake, Mr. Sharman, who became managing director in January, 1962, remains managing director.

Mr. J. N. B. Parisson, at present a traffic assistant with East Yorkshire Motor Services Ltd., has been appointed traffic officer in this undertaking. Hp will take up his new appointment in Aberdare on November 2.

Mr. V. H. F. Hopkins, formerly manager of engineering of the diesel engine division of English Electric at Rugby, has joined the Perkins Group, Peterborough, as general product planning manager.

Mr. M. D. Francis has been promoted to field sales manager for Erecto Slotted Angle Co.

Duple Group Sales Ltd. has promoted Mr. W. J. Newey, formerly Midland sales manager, to the newly created post of manager, dealer sales. Mr. Newey will be responsible for co-ordinating the activities of Duple Group dealers throughout the British Isles.

Mr. J. Honey has been appointed general manager of Rocester Services Ltd., the J. C. Bamford (Excavators) Ltd. parts and service company. Mr. Honey joined the company 18 months ago as service manager. He will be responsible for the world-wide activities of Rocester Services, including control of their offices in Dusseldorf, Holland and Switzerland.

Two additional directors have been appointed to the board of Avon Tyres (Northern Ireland) Ltd., a subsidiary of

the Avon Rubber Cb. Ltd., Melksham. Wilts. Mr. R. H. Mansfield, at present sales manager, is to be general manager and a director, and Mr. D. L. Gibson, sales manager, Avon replacement tyre division, becomes a director. Mr. Mansfield, 32, joined Avon as a sales representative in 1958, and appointed sales manager in 1963. Mr. Gibson took up his present appointment in December of last year. He joined Avon in Birmingham, was promoted to district manager, Manchester, and returned to Birmingham as area sales manager in 1961.

Mr. L. C. Barrow has been appointed product sales manager, Automotive Batteries Crompton Parkinson Ltd., and Mr. F. Bannister has been appointed product sales manager, Filters, Crompton Parkinson Ltd.

Mr. J. E. Ager, principal executive assistant in charge of the staff administration office, has been appointed an officer of London Transport Board with the title of staff administration officer.
