WAREHOUSE S FAFF at JJB Sports' Martland distribution centre in Lancashire have called if strike action following the settlement of a pay dispute.

GMB members have accepted a revised offer,backdated to I August. which raises the basic rate for all workers in the depot from either L5.20 or.£5.50 to f6/hr. Distribution staff will also get bonuses of 15p(X/p/hr depending on how busy the depot is and the pace of work. Star had rejected a3% offer.

GMB regional officer Graham Coxon says: -This has been a great victory for the will and fortitude of G MB members at JJ B Sports, who have been on the minimum wage for far too long.Their action should serve as a beacon to low-paid workers everywhere to join the GMB and unite to fight for a better deal.
