Official Information, Aided by Maps, Which Should Prove of Inestimable Value to Coach Proprietors.

iN OUR next week's issue we hope to be in a position to give our motor coach readers a complete list of the towns and cities with which we intend to. deal in con nection with our parking plans for visiting coaches. Our main object, in publishing this list is to ascertain from coach owners and drivers their views upon the actual sequential importance of the various centres, so that we may publish the plans in the order in which they are -most likely to be appreciated. We have official information in our possession dealing with approximately 150 different towns and cities, and by collecting the opinions of drivers and owners we shall be able to check our own views upon the relative importance of each,

We have already dealt with the parking arrangements of 27 towns and cities, and below we deal with the regulations in force in Buxton, Forfar, Leicester and Thirsk.

BUXTOX.—The only site for parking motor coaches in Buxton is in the Market Place, where they can be placed on payment of a small fee to. the borough council. Vehicles are only allowed to set down and pick up passengers in Bridge Street (which is north of the parking ground) and the Market

Place, as these thoroughfares are sufficiently wide to permit of thiS operation being carried out with safety. The coaches cannot be parked in the Market Place on Saturday as the place is then_ used by stall-liolde,rs, Ample garage room is available in the town on this day.

FORIAN.—The place for setting down and picking up passengers and for parking in this Scottish town is the Market Muir, which is quite close to the railway station. LEICESTER.—Motor coaches visiting Leicester must either find garage accommodation or stand in the Haymarket, Humberstone Gate, in the centre of the town. The Markets Committee makes a charge of 2s. per day, or per night, for motor coaches (with parties) using this apace. TETIRSK.—The police make no arrangements in Thirsk for visiting chars-a-banes. There is, however, a. large market space in the centre of the town where accommodation Can be found for about 200 vehicles. The owner of the Market Place makes a charge of is. for each motor coach.
