MOANS a that 3.5p increase in the price of dery will exacerbate problems for coach operators caused by the already spiralling fuel prices have been tempered by sighs of relief that the Budget did not impose the threatened value added tax on bus and coach travel.
For stage bus operators, the Budget has been a bit of a nonevent, with the entitlement to fuel duty rebate insulating operators from dery tax changes.
But all hackney carriages will have to pay a vehicle excise duty increase of around 11.1 per cent.
