The new national committees of the Freight Transport Association have elected their first chairmen.
CHAIRMAN of the operations committee is Norman Allen, group transport manager, STC Telecommunications Ltd of London. He has held his present position since 1977 and was formerly distribution director with the Littlewoods Organisation. Mr Allen is a member of the national executive board of FrA. The operations committee is responsible for all areas of road transport activity.
Chairman of the commercial committee is Dr David Bricknell, company distribution adviser, Imperial Chemical Industries PLC of London. Dr Bricknell, who joined ICI in 1960, holds a PhD from the University of Durham. The commercial committee is responsible for all transport user matters by all modes of transport in the UK and to Europe.
