Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Five school buses which have entered service with the GLC's Inner London Education Authority have doors on both sides for easy loading in one-way systems. They are the first buses to be ordered by the ILEA with Strachans bodywork.

The buses, on 164in. wheelbase Bedford VAS chassis, have 30-seat Strachans SC bodies which are 24ft 1 lin. overall. The offside door, which is an optional extra, means the loss of four seats. It is thought that the order signifies a change in GLC policy towards buying lower-priced bodies suitable for exclusive schools-contract work.

At present there are a total of 61 SC bodies on order from Strachans including 10 for Pontins holiday camps. The body is available in ckd form for export and has been offered for two years. The company has also delivered two special-bodied vehicles fitted with tail-lifts to the GLC for carrying handicapped people.
