EXPORTS IMPROVE: NOTABLE DOLLAR DEMAND

EXPORTS last November improved upon the totals for the two previous months. Altogether 9.211 vehicles were sent overseas to earn more than £7m. Statistics are given on this page.

Biggest purchasers of complete vehicles were Canada and the U.S.A., which bought 462 and 346 respectively, whilst Australia was the largest market for chassis, taking 778.

Production statistics are also presented in tabulated form, it will be seen that the weekly average for November was above the level for the first 11 months of 1958.
