WALTER JAYAWARDENE, directors of the Ceylon Transport Board, have resigned. Mr. Jayawardene is coming to Britain.
MR. G. N. FREETH has succeeded MR. W, E. ALEXANDER as branch manager for Advance Motor Supplies, Ltd., at Jennens Row, Birmingham.
MR. ALEXANDER MACNAIR, for many years transport manager of W. Macdonald and Sons (Biscuits), Ltd., Glasgow, has become a director of the company.
MR. G. E. TWINE, a director of Blue Peter Retreads, Ltd., Basingstoke, has left England with the first British rifle team to visit the West Indies. Mr. Twine won the Queen's. Prize at Bisley in. 1955 and 1957, MR. W. N. HART, managing director of , Kerry's (Great Britain), Ltd., is engaged on an overseas tour, visiting Africa, Australia, New Zealand, the U.S.A. and Canada. He will return en March 8.
Ma. EDWIN WALKER WRIGHT, a partner in a Wolverhampton firm of solicitors, has become a director of the Willenhall Motor Radiator Co., Ltd. MR, J. 0. ROBINSON, production manager, has been appointed a special director.
MR. ROGER DELBRIDGE has been promoted by F. G. Ruggles, Ltd., tyre and battery distributors, Hounslow, Middx, to sales manager. He has been with the company for 12 years, and was previously national accounts manager.
MR. F. FOXLEY, Midland division manager for the Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Co. (Gt. Britain), Ltd.,I has become dealer relations manager, working from head office. He is succeeded by his assistant, MR. C. LEIN. Mr. Foxley has been with Goodyear since 1919, and became assistant manager of his division in 1937. Seven years later
he took over as rna'nager. Mr. Lein joined Goodyear's sales department in 1923.
MR. V. P. SLONE-REES, formerly district manager at the London branch of Power Petroleum Co., Ltd.., has been appointed consumer trade manager at head office. He is succeeded by MR. J. COULTER, London branch general sales representative. When MR. W. ATCHISON retires as northern branch manager in May, he will be replaced by MR. G. R. ROBINSON, district manager at north western branch. Taking Mr. Robinson's place will be MIL E. H. M. MATTHEWS, eastern branch general sales representative. Following the death of MR. R. H. CLARK, MR. D. J. BENToN, southern branch district manager, becomes Scottish branch manager, and he is in turn succeeded by a Midland branch general sales representative, MR. L. H. WARREN. MR, J. F. O'SHEA, north western branch general sales representative, succeeds the late MR. G. D. GODDARD as Chester branch district manager.

MR. J. E. ODGEAR, manager of the Exide stores and assembly works, Park Royal, London, has retired after 40 years' service with Chloride Batteries, Ltd.
MR. R. GIBSON JARVIE, joint deputy chairman of United Dominions Trust, Ltd., has become managing director of United Dominions Trust (Comtnerdal), Ltd., responsible for the instalment credit business of the U.D.T. Group.
MR. E. FROGGATT, north eastern divisional staff officer for British Road Services since 1956, has become West Yorkshire District manager. He is succeeded as divisional staff officer by MR. I. M. COLQUHOUN, staff superintendent of the Bristol Omnibus Co., Ltd.
SIR LEONARD LORD, chairman of the British Motor Corporation, left England this week for a tour of B.M.C. factories in South Africa. During the tour he will discus's with local government officials the development of a 100-acre site recently acquired by B.M.C. at Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia. , MR. DEREK LEES FYTCHE, assistant traffic manager of the Trent Motor Traction Co., Ltd., has been appointed traffic manager at Stockport for the North Western Road Car Co., Ltd. Before joining Trent two years ago he was Merseyside assistant divisional manager for Crosville Motor Services, Ltd.
MR. G. BROOKER, engineering superintendent in the Isle of Thanet for the East Kent Road Car Co.. Ltd., has retired.' MR. W. KILVENGTON. traffic superintendent, now becomes Thanet depot. engineer. The Folkestone traffic superintendent. MR. A. J. MERCER, has become district superintendent, and MR, J. E. J. BAKER, Cheriton garage foreman, is promoted to Folkestone depot engineer.
