Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A higher-capacity Karrier Masketeer refuse collector is now available. Developed in conjunction with Glover, Webb & Liversidge of London, the new vehicle is known as the Mark II Musketeer 22 cu. yd. Air Space model, and follows the familiar pattern.

Offering 7.25 tons nominal payload capacity, chassis features of the new model include the 135 bhp Rootes three-cylinder, two-stroke diesel engine, a five-speed allsynchromesh gearbox and full air dividedline brakes with lock actuators fitted to the rear axle.

The new Musketeer chassis is priced at £2,399. The three-door, seven-seater coachbuilt double cab and 22 cu. yd. container body cost £475 and £3,042 (including cab painting) respectively.

Both floor and underframe of the body are of steel construction, while the sides and roof are made of corrosion-resisting aluminium alloy. The compaction mechanism employs a single helical impeller, which is mechanically driven through a multi-plate overload clutch. The impeller rotates continuously and partially destructs the refuse before drawing it in through a tunnel and compresses it as it passes into the container body. This action ensures that the hopper is kept clear and provides a very high rate of loading.

A total of five Musketeer models are now available: a 16 cu. yd. model based on either the Commer VCS or CE8 chassis with the Perkins 6.354 or Routes diesel engine respectively; a 19 cu. yd. model based on either of the above chassis; and the new 22 cu. yd. model which uses a 14ft 8th. wheelbase Commer Maxiload chassis.
