A T its meeting last week, Rishton
(Lancashire) Urban Council criticized the action of Blackburn Corporation in applying for a licence to operate a bus service from Blackburn, via Whitebirk to Blackamoor, after opposing the application of Ribble Motor services, Ltd.
Workers going to the new fuse factory from• Rishton, it was stated, would have to travel to Whitebirk on buses of the Ribble company and then have to wait for a corporation vehicle.
The clerk of the council said that it could not object to the action of the corporation, as the proposed route was within its own area.
