TRUCK DRIVERS may be exposing themselves to an increased risk of skin cancer during the summer months. according to research which found harmful rays penetrate cab windows.

An American study cites a correlation between more time spent driving and a higher incidence of skin cancers on the side of the body most exposed to sunlight.

Speaking at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology, Dr Scott Fosko said: "Our initial data shows that those individuals under age 70 who consistently spent the most time per week driving a car were more A Me Ienoma: D likely to develop left-sided skin cancers.
