Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I FOUND CM's article (June 14) on the Volvo flywheel bus interesting. I was intrigued to read that this development which incorporated a power unit of 100kW provided for -Retardation braking return of 170kVV to the flywheel which can be stored to allow the bus to operate in certain areas with the conventional power unit switched off ."

If any further details of this regenerative flywheel are available, I, and no doubt other readers, would be interested to have this information.

At one time Commercial Motor devoted a page every week giving details (including sketches) pf patents registered, and I still have some of these pages taken from publication between 1955/59.

It is interesting to note that during that period, numerous manufacturers registered patents relating to fluid transmission system, most of them incorporating swash pumps.

However, I cannot trace any reference to a regenerative flywheel, perhaps it is a new conception of the conservation of energy.
