AT a simple road junction, effective traffic control necessitated the fulltime services of at least two policemen at a cost of some £1,200 per year, but the same junction would be controlled more efficiently by vehicle-actuated traffic lights for only £175.

This is claimed by the Automatic Telephone and Electric Co., Ltd., Strowger House, 8 Arundel Street, London, W.C.2, in a new book in which the applications of Elcctro Matic vehicle-actuated road signals are explained.
