THE GOVERNMENT HAS made good on its promise to simplify business support from 1 April by condensing 3,000 programmes into a portfolio of 30 initial packages, which can be accessed through Business Link.
Solutions for Business is the brand name for this simplification, which the Department for Business. Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) says will put another £1.4bn in the pot for business through savings To begin with, Business Link will have direct access to nine programmes, and the rest will be brought under the same banner by March 2010.
Train to Gain and Business Link brokers have now come together to offer 'integrated brokerage: A BERR spokesperson says the aim is to save businesses time and money by offering a one-stop shop. "Business Link is the first portal for all this information."
