The usual monthly meeting of the Executive Committee of the Commercial Motor Users' Association was held, for April, on the 8th instant. Colonel R. E. Crompton, C.B., the Chairman, presided, and there were also present : Captain R. K. Bagnall-Wild, RE.; W. J. Baker; E. Godfrey Brewer (E. R. Calthrop and Partners); E. C. A. Coventry (Great Western Railway); M. J. Davey (Great Eastern London Motor Omnibus Co., Ltd.); S. D. Gilbert (Vanguard Motorbus Co., Ltd.); Dr. H. S. Hele-Shaw, ER.S.; W. G. Lobjoit, J.P. ; H. Thomson Lyon (Metropolitan Asylums Board); J. C. Mitchell (London Road Car Co., Ltd.); L. G. Oldfield (London Omnibus Owners' Federation); Charles Wheeler (G.P.O., Stores Department); and W. Provincial cab regulations.—A letter was read from Mr. E. R. Pickmere, the Town Clerk of Liverpool, with regard to the drafting of a model set of rnotorcah regulations. .Messrs. E. G. Brewer, W. M. Hodges, II. Thomson Lyon, and Douglas Mackenzie were appointed a sub-committee for the purpose, and to submit their views to the sub-committee of the Association of Municipal Corporations which has this matter in hand.

Mark Rriclge.It was reported that the County Surveyor of Northumberland had intimated that his council would not entertain the idea of throwing open Wark Bridge to heavy motor traffic, on account of its narrowness and length. It was also reported that the National Traction Engine Owners' and Users' Association had decided to assist any private owner of a traction engine who desired to lodge an appeal to the Local Government Board in this matter, and it was resolved that the C.M.U.A. should co-operate.

London water charges.—The Chairman and Mr. Thomson Lyon were appointed to meet the Chief Engineer of the Metropolitan Water -Board, and to discuss various incidental matters.

Provincial meets.-7—It was resolved that a meet should take place, in Manchester, about the middle of July, and another, in London, about the end of September, and that a prize fund should be opened. This list was started by a donation of ten guineas from the Association.

Roads Improvement .4s7ociation..--Mr. Douglas Mackenzie was appointed the representative of the C.M.U.A. on the Council of this association, for the year 1908. embership,—The names of nine new members, who had been enrolled since the March meeting, were reported,
