Geoffrey Shadbolt AMIoTA, is sales and development manager at the Heathrowbased express haulage firm, APS (Transport) Ltd. He joins APS with a wide knowledge of express haulage gained at Concorde Express, where he was a director. Mr Shadbolt's new role will be to promote existing APS services and to develop new business.
The newly created post of distribution manager at Southern Britisii Road Services has been filled by Mike Howarth. Mr Howarth, who has been with BRS for eight years, will be responsible for expanding business in both the consumer and industrial sectors throughout the SouthEast.
Two new executive directorships have been created within Coventry-based Brady Transport Services Ltd for long-serving members of its staff. John Tallis, who joined Brady Transport 12 years ago as a management trainee now heads its self-drive hire operation. Margaret Costello is personal assistant to the managing director and director and secretary of Heart of England Transport Training Ltd, of which Brady Transport is a founder member.
Leonard Reagan, chairman and chief executive of Carrington Viyella Ltd, has accepted chairmanship of the Centre for Physical Distribution Management's board. He succeeds Stanley Lyon, a former deputy chairman of ICI, who has been CPDM chairman since October 1975.
