Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

by JOHN CULLEN

THE AEC RELIANCE 691 semi-coach is now available with coil-spring suspension front and rear, as well as with leafand air-spring systems.

Coil-spring suspension is not entirely new for AEC passenger vehicles but it is the first single-decker to have it on both axles.

I like the design of this suspension, which employs four coil springs to each axle— two on either side—with the rear coils being much heavier.

The basic air-suspension axle-location linkage is used with top and bottom radius rods for each axle, and with Panhard rods for sideways location.

• 1 was given the opportunity to road test the 691 this week. Full details of the test will appear in CM on October 6.
