• New sales records for Bedford Commercial vehicles in both UK and export markets were set in the January to September period with total Bedford world sales 39 per cent up on the same period in 1970.
Highest-ever Bedford truck and van sales in the UK in the period, at 48,443 represent an increase of 34 per cent over the same nine months of last year.
Bedford exports rose 46 per cent in January to September over the same period in 1970, to a record 44,183 — exceeding the previous best figure of 41,823.
