New Radial Road for Newcastle: Work is to start at once on a £486,000 scheme to build he first section of Newcastle upon Tyne's north-west radial road. The new road, a little more than a mile long, will run from the junction of Ponleland Road (A696) and Stamfordharn Road to the Grandstand Road 'Claremont Road (B6338) junction, following a by-pass of the built-up area of Cow Hill.
