Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

WINTER PREPARATION • With winter only a snowfall away, The Freight Transport Association has produced a handy 10-page guide on winter preparation for commercial vehicles.

Divided into four major sections covering the fuel system, cooling system, vehicle electrics and brakes and tyres, the guide gives plenty of advice on the prevention of diesel waxing, battery care and how to keep brakes and tyres working at maximum efficiency.

There are also useful hints on getting the right specification for anti-freeze.

Single copies of the guide are available from the FTA at Hermes House, Tunbridge Wells, Kent TN4 9UZ, for the price of a large stampedaddressed envelope. Bulk orders, however, will only be offered to FTA members.

CM BOOKLETS • Regular readers of Commercial Motor will have noticed that in recent issues we have included three pocket-size guides for drivers and operators.

The small booklets — on UK Truck Stops, the new Drivers' Hours, and the latest Construction and Use regulations — have been reprinted following popular demand, and can be purchased for just 50p each (including postage).

For copies write to Mrs L. Jones, Pocket Guide Offer, Commercial Motor, Quadrant House, Sutton, Surrey SM2 5AS.
