/ Load security — always a headache for the general haulier — can now be made easier with the introduction of the Easi-Track sliding ratchet system, marketed by Geoff Edmonds of Christchurch near Newport.

The Easi-Track system consists of a specially-designed track which can be welded or bolted in required lengths to the vehicle's cross members.

Matching ratchet winches, which slide into the track, are used in conjunction with loading straps to hold down the cargo. The straps are secured to existing tie-down rings on the opposite side of the vehicle to the ratchets.

The amount of tracking fitted to a vehicle or trailer can vary, as can the number of winches.

Easi-Track is supplied in two-metre lengths for V32.95 including VAT, with six sections being sufficient for a standard 12m trailer. Loading straps and an anti-theft lock are also available.
