Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

of Electricar industrial trucks, made by Crompton Parkinson, Ltd., Electra House, Victoria Embankment, London, W.C.2, is a 2-ton model specially designed for heavy duty, such as is encountered in steelworks, foundries, and on the dockside.

A special feature of tills truck is the protective plate on each side of the driver's platform, which provides an excellent safeguard against injury from swinging loads, or collisions. The steel frame is fabricated by welding, and the deck or platform is in chequered steel plate in three hinged sections. These can be opened up to expose the battery and the undercarriage. The dimensions of the deck are 7 ft. 6 ins. by 3 ft. 9 ins.

Some idea of the strength of this truck may be gathered from the fact that it will withstand occasional overloading to double its rated capacity, although this practice is to be deprecated.

Being particularly well sprung, the traversing of gullies. sunken rail tracks and the like, have no material adverse effect, either to the truck or its load.

The control gear is as nearly fool-proof as it is possible to make it. The brake operates on the transmission, and

is released by depressing the control pedal. This action also controls a switch, so that the motor cannot become energized until the brake is fully released. Release of the brake also cuts off the current.
